The Multi Stakeholder
Forestry Programme (MSFP) is a forestry programme of the Government of Nepal
(GoN). The programme aims to improve livelihoods and resilience of the poor and
disadvantaged people in Nepal by maximizing the contribution of the country's
forestry sector to inclusive economic growth, poverty reduction and tackling
climate change. The programme is funded by the governments of Finland (GoF),
Switzerland and the United Kingdom's Department for International Development
(DFID). The Embassy of Switzerland, Swiss Agency for Development and
Cooperation SDC has established a Services Support Unit (SSU) in Kathmandu to
support the implementation of the MSFP during the first phase (2012-2016). The
SSU is now seeking applications from qualified and experienced Nepali citizens
for the following position:
Administrative Officer
Duration: 1 year contract with possibility of extension upto 15
July 2016.
Duty station: Kathmandu with
at least 30% field visits in MSFP working districts.
Expert Competence
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Humanities or any relevant field with at least 3 years of working experience in office administration/management with development project/programme or l/NGOs;
- Understanding of the line agencies of the Government of Nepal (GoN), Non- Government Organizations (NGOs) preferably donors and private sector;
- Good knowledge of project administration and human resource management related tasks;
- Good knowledge of written and spoken English and Nepali languages;
- Proficiency with computer applications (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint);
- Ability to work independently in a wide range of assignments/tasks.
Methodical and Social /Competence
- Good time management and task prioritization skills;
- Result oriented and maintains deadlines;
- Good communication, negotiation and networking skills;
- Good intercultural skills and ability to work in a multicultural team;
- Sensitivity in the areas of gender equality, poverty reduction, social inclusion and equity.
