Integrated Development Society- Nepal (IDS- Nepal)is a national not- for- profit development NGO based in Kathmandu working since 15 years in the field of climate change, infrastructure development/WATSAN, Forest Management and social development. One of its major current project is implementation of part of Multi Stakeholder Forestry Programme (MSFP) in the Far &Mid West region (Dailekh, Jajarkot, Kalikot, Bajhang and Achham). MSFP is a joint programme of Government of Nepal in collaboration with the Governments of Finland, Switzerland and the UK, which aims to maximize the contribution of Nepal's Forestry Sector to inclusive economic growth, poverty reduction and tackling climate change. ForMSFP, 1DSNcpal in is looking for experienced and qualified candidates for the position of Gender Equity Social Inclusion and Livelihood (GES1L). Expert with following requirements:
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop GPSI strategy in IDS Multistakeholder Forestry Programme and ensure translation of the strategy in implementing NGOs and LFG.
  • Lead the theme in the project and ensure GPSI has been adapted as cross cutting theme in each and every activities of project.
  • Ensure participation of poor, excluded and DAG in the programme implementation.
  • Lead social mobilisation programme with proper backstopping to LIPOs and staffs.
  • Ensure SDC norms and values related to gender and work force diversity in the programme.
  • Utilize best practice and knowledge from local community, national knowledge and networks.
  • Understanding of issues related to forestry/natural resource management, forest based livelihoods, climate change, gender, poverty reduction and social inclusion in Nepal.
  • Report writing in English and Nepali, Communication, networking skills and ability to work in multicultural team.
  • Sensitivity in the area of gender equality, poverty, social inclusion and equality.
  • Readiness to work in rural areas with limited facilities.

Qualifications and Experiences:
1. Masters in Gender, Forestry, Social Science, Management or Development Studies with
5 years work experience in the related Field,
2. Bachelor's degree in any discipline with at least 7 years of work experience in related field.
3, Specific Experience in CF process and preparatory forest management approaches.
4. Experience of working in social mobilization activities
