Consortium Advocacy Coordinator
The Consortium Advocacy Coordinator is responsible in providing leadership to Save the Children and Consortium partners on all advocacy activities envisaged for the OIPECHO action "Promoting and strengthening school safety in Nepal through operationalizing the Comprehensive School Safety Framework (CSSF)". S/he will be responsible for the development of a joint advocacy strategy in coordination with the Consortium partners, the government and other relevant actors. In addition, s/he wilt coordinate and align the advocacy initiatives with other DIPECHO projects in the South Asia region. At the national level, the position requires communication with multiple high level stakeholders on policy related issues on DRR in education is required.
Term and Location: Fixed term position based Kathmandu
Required Qualification: At least bachelor's degree (Master's preferred) in Political Science, Development Studies, Education, Disaster Risk Management with at least 3 years of working experience within the education sector in Nepal; Previous working experience with the Ministry of Education (MoE) in Nepalwould be an added advantage.
Required Knowledge & Skills: The position demands an excellent understanding of the context, structures and networks of the education system that can be based as a basis for Influencing and advocacy. S/he should have sound knowledge and experience from national and local systems for implementation of education and/or disaster risk management and/or DRR education actions and advocacy initiatives. S/he should demonstrate excellent representational and interpersonal communication skills with demonstrable experience of negotiating and influencing governments, working with partners, donors and development agencies and has the ability to establish new contacts and maintain a network of relevant contacts. S/he should also be familiar with ECHO funded actions and possess good training and capacity building skills. Willingness to travel to different field locations and excellent command in the English and Nepali languages, both written and spoken are must.
Consortium Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability & Learning (MEAL) Coordinator
The Consortium Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability & Learning (MEAL) Coordinator is responsible for developing the consortium monitoring and evaluation tools, by harmonizing the systems used by the consortium partners as well as utilizing and adapting the tools developed at the regional level by Save the Children in liaison with the Global Alliance for DRR in the Education Sector (GADRRES). S/he will collaborate strongly with the Consortium partners MEAL teams both at central and district level along with other relevant stakeholders, and when required the post holder will be expected to mentor and/or capacity building of existing PNGO staffs and regional MEAL teams.
Term and Location: Fixed term position based in Kathmandu
Required Qualification:  Bachelor's degree (Masters preferred) in any Social Science with at least 3 years of experience in monitoringand evaluation and/or research experience preferably at lNGOs
Required Knowledge & Skills:  S/he should have technical skills, knowledge and experience on designing M&E systems plans and implementing them including designing log frames & indicators, baselines & evaluations, application of statistical methodologies, development & management of database and generation of lessons & learning through quality reporting. The position holder should have good representation skills, excellent interpersonal & communication skills, capacity building skills and the ability to work under pressure/stress.  Willingness to travel to different field locations and excellent command in the English and Nepali languages, both written and spoken are must.
